Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday attended the 16th East Asia Summit, and encouraged relevant parties to respect each other, work together, increase their input on fighting COVID-19 and economic recovery, uphold regional peace and stability, and promote development and prosperity.

Noting that the Summit is a "leaders-led strategic forum" with members from the major Asia-Pacific countries, Li put forward a four-point proposal in his speech.

First, all parties should join hands to fight the pandemic.

Second, all parties need to promote all-around economic recovery, uphold free and fair trade, and ensure unimpeded international logistics.

Third, all parties should promote green development, respond to the challenge of climate change, promote low-carbon transformation, and achieve synergies with economic development and people's livelihoods, while ensuring a stable and secure energy supply, said Li.

Fourth, all parties should support the centrality of ASEAN. Li stressed that an open and inclusive regional cooperation architecture is an important cornerstone for long-term peace and prosperity in the region.

李克强表示，东亚峰会作为“领导人引领的战略论坛”，成员涵盖亚太主要国家，具有广泛代表性和影响力。李克强在讲话中提出四点建议:

一是携手抗击疫情。中方将根据有关国家需求，力所能及加大疫苗及其他抗疫物资援助。加快推进“中国－东盟公共卫生合作倡议”，提升地区公共卫生能力。

二是促进经济全面复苏。坚持自由贸易、公平贸易，维护国际物流畅通。

三是推动绿色发展。遵循共同但有区别的责任原则应对气候变化挑战，全面有效实施《巴黎协定》。均衡有序推进低碳转型，在保障能源稳定安全供给的同时，实现与经济发展、民生保障协同增效。中方倡议此次会议发表《关于可持续复苏的声明》。

四是支持东盟中心地位。以东盟为中心、开放包容的区域合作架构是本地区长期和平繁荣的重要基石。支持东盟共同体建设和维护多边主义的努力，维护以联合国为核心的国际体系。

• The most active futures contracts for thermal coal in China fell a further 8.8 percent today after the country’s top economic planning agency said it has brought coal industry associations and key companies to the table to discuss specific measures, such as the shaving of profit margins of local producers, to bring down record-high prices of fuel that are affecting the country’s electricity output.

  据国家发改委网站10月29日消息，为规范价格指数行为，促进价格指数市场健康有序发展，国家发展改革委价格司会同有关方面成立联合工作组，对国内具有全国性影响的所有煤炭价格指数编制发布单位，启动价格指数行为评估和合规性审查。郑商所交投最活跃的动力煤期货合约周五一度下跌8.7%，至每吨960元人民币，创下9月14日以来最低盘中价格。

• Shares of companies developing “MetaVerse” games soared today after Facebook changed its name to Meta, reflecting growth opportunities in online digital realms. Zqgame and Jinke Tom Culture Industry surged 20 percent and 14.8 percent today respectively.

  2021年10月28日，Facebook宣布，公司名将更改为“Meta”，这是元宇宙MetaVerse的前缀。10月29日，A股元宇宙板块走强，中青宝涨20%，汤姆猫涨14.8%。

• China’s largest cross-border brokers plummeted in New York trading after a central bank official questioned the legitimacy of their operations amid Beijing’s continuing crackdown on financial risks. UP Fintech Holding Ltd. plummeted more than 17 percent, and Tencent Holdings Ltd. -backed Futu Holdings Ltd. tumbled 12.8 percent yesterday.

  境外互联网券商富途控股和老虎证券昨日美股大跌。中国人民银行金融稳定局局长孙天琦近日表示，“从业务实质看，跨境互联网券商属在我境内无照驾驶，属非法金融活动。”10月28日，美股老虎证券暴跌17%，富途控股跌12.8%。

• The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced yesterday that China will start a pilot program to allow electric vehicle owners in 11 cities, including Beijing and Chongqing, to change their batteries for new ones at charging stations. 

  10月28日，工业和信息化部发布消息称，工业和信息化部办公厅日前印发《关于启动新能源汽车换电模式应用试点工作的通知》(以下简称《通知》)，决定启动新能源汽车换电模式应用试点工作。据介绍，纳入此次试点范围的城市共有11个，包括北京、南京、武汉、三亚、重庆等。

• Nearly 3,000 businesses from 127 countries and regions will attend the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) scheduled offline from Nov. 5 to 10 in Shanghai, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau. The numbers of participating countries and exhibitors both surpassed those of the third CIIE last year. 

  第四届中国国际进口博览会（简称“进博会”）将于11月5日至10日在上海举办。10月28日，中国国际进口博览局副局长孙成海在新闻发布会上介绍，共有58个国家和3个国际组织参加国家展，来自127个国家和地区的近3000家参展商亮相企业展，国别、企业数均超过上届。

• Chinese stocks closed mixed on Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.82 percent, at 3547 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.45 percent higher at 14451 points. The Hang Seng Index closed 0.7 percent lower to stand at 25377 points.
